What this site is for

This is a patient decision guide to mesotherapy, published by Chongqing West District Hospital, a tertiary general hospital in Jiulongpo District, Chongqing. It narrows the injectable pages of this cluster rather than repeating them: what an injectable is, whether to have one at all and how substance classes differ are answered there. What this site adds is the part that is specific to a treatment named after its method. Mesotherapy tells you how something is given and nothing about what it is, so every decision here begins with the same question, which is what is in the syringe.

The distinction this site is built on

Most writing about mesotherapy describes the technique and then attributes the results of the most studied substance to it. That is the error this site exists to correct. A single substance that has been studied when injected into the skin, a combination of vitamins and amino acids prepared for the occasion, and a dilution with no plausible mechanism are all sold under the same word, and the study record of the first says nothing about the second or the third. Keeping the method, the mixture and the evidence apart is what lets a reader ask a question that has an answer.

What it deliberately does not do

It does not name products or brands, quote prices or dosages, or promise a result. It does not explain how the injections are placed, because the decisions a patient has to make are about the mixture and the course rather than about the needle. It does not list conditions that mesotherapy treats, because that list changes with the mixture and a list of that kind is where the confusion starts. It does not present a standardised product as an upgraded version of a prepared mixture, or the reverse, and it does not describe a modest or temporary result as a lesser one. Where the honest answer is a different treatment, or no treatment, the site says so and links rather than stretching its own subject to cover it.

How the content is reviewed and corrected

Ke He, MD, Deputy Director and Head of Skin & Laser Aesthetics, is the responsible physician. Every guide is reviewed against her clinical judgement before publication and reviewed again on a twelve-month cycle. If you find something unclear, out of date or wrong, the contact page explains how to tell us, and corrections are made to the page itself.
